Suyam Charitable Trust, established in Chennai, India by social workers and students, runs a number of programmes to help communities and individuals living in poverty to improve their lives, principally through education and awareness raising. The Trust organises AIDS awareness camps where medical help can be provided, and runs a blood donor campaign. Free education for street children and others is provided in a Montessori school run by the Trust, while the Recreation Club run by students provides entertainment and other programmes in children’s homes.
