Japanese Red Cross Society

Unverified non-profit organisation

The Japanese Red Cross Society (JRCS) undertakes a wide of range of humanitarian activities including humanitarian relief to refugees, victims of war, and survivors of natural and human-generated disasters. It does this by providing personnel, material and financial assistance to the International Committee of the Red Cross and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. In recent years JRCS undertook disaster response activities on a global basis, including El Salvador, India, and Afganistan, and development programmes in Nepal, Cambodia, various Pacific islands, and other developing countries. The JCRS also conducts domestic disaster response activities including the provision of first aid, hot meals and other services. In doing so, it coordinates the collection and distribution of voluntary donations for relief operations and supervises the nation-wide storage and distribution of food and other materials needed by victims of disasters.
