Po Leung Kuk Cheung Hong Youth Development Centre is dedicated to develop and consolidate youth with talent, nurturing and personal growth education through “ Arts Assisted Social Work Practice”. With the understanding of struggling various life events and experiencing constant emotional swing of youth, the center, as social work professionals, aims at providing and encouraging youth an outlet for emotion and feeling by means of art media and facilitating communication in a safe environment.
Services
The centre is designed with the concept of drama education and performance, dance and body movement. Multi-media production will be used as a mean to assist the promotion of our following work:
1. Theatre in education
Theatre in education is not only a performance, but a teaching and acting activity. It allows the discussion of various humanity issues in the theatre. It increases the problem-solving skills in their life.
2. Dance and body movement
Dance and body movement provide a platform for teenagers to express their feeling and need. It enhances their communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Multi- media production
Media offers an opportunity to record life in community and human stories. Through record sharing, relationships between person-to-person, person-to-community and community-to-community are greatly promoted and enhanced. And it facilitates a healthy and nurturing environment for youth growth, guidance & development.
Eligibility for the Service
• Individual Membership: 10 to 40-year-old youths
• Family Membership: maximum 4 family members within two generations of lineal
