Yakkum Emergency Unit (YEU) is a younger sister of Yogyakarta based CD Bethesda (Community Development of Bethesda Hospital). YEU was established in 2001 based on pressing concerns within YAKKUM (Yayasan Kristen untuk Kesehatan Umum – Christian Foundation for Public Health) regarding the effectiveness of CD Bethesda’s responses to emergencies while still retaining its focus on community development work.
YAKKUM Emergency Unit (YEU), is a unit of YAKKUM that established in 2001 and focused on disaster responses and disaster risk reduction activities.
YEU has been assisting more than 150 villages in Indonesia, Timor Leste and Myanmar and continually cooperating with a networking consists of 350 people organizations throughout Indonesia until the year of 2010.
YEU/YAKKUM are members of Humanitarian Accountability Partnership (HAP) to broaden the scope of humanitarian activities and ensure their sustainability and improve the accountability of humanitarian work
