University of Nottingham Student Volunteer Centre (SVC) is the Students’ Union volunteering department. It works with over 100 organizations spanning local community groups, national charities and international organizations like Shelter and Oxfam. The centre sees more than 600 students each year volunteering in local schools and community organizations, as well as a range of other projects throughout the city of Nottingham. The Students’ Union also runs an international volunteering project, InterVol, which sends student volunteers to work in rural African communities.
