The Albanian Mine Action Executive (AMAE) was established to resolve the mine and unexploded ordnance (UXO) threat in Northeast Albania (emanating from the 1999 Kosovo conflict). Various activities have been completed and others are still ongoing, including mine stockpile destruction, mine and unexploded ordnance clearance, mine risk education, mine victims assistance and advocacy. To fulfil organisational aims, projects are being implemented by several local and international implementing partners, coordinated by AMAE.
