Hivos is a Dutch non-governmental organisation which is committed to the poor and marginalised and to the organisations which promote their interests. Hivos is particularly interested in the strengthening of the position of women in society. It provides financial and political support for local NGOs in more than 35 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Southeast Europe.
