Sweden Humanitarian Customs Regulations

This document was submitted in response to a questionnaire distributed by Global Hand regarding humanitarian customs information. It provides regulations for importing humanitarian aid into Sweden.

Required Documents

  • bill of lading/airway bil
  • commercial invoice
  • packing list
  • fumigation certificate
  • deed of donation
  • certificate of origin
  • Single Administrative Document (SAD) has to be completed (the receiver must give further information of the intended use of the goods).

Prohibited Goods

Any goods other than what is considered to satisfy the immediate need of the people are prohibited as humanitarian aid, including alcohol, tobacco, coffee or tea and vehicles, except ambulances.

Tax Exemption

This is offered on humanitarian cargo and applies to all goods with the exception of those prohibited goods mentioned above.

Monetary Valuation

Customs require monetary valuation for the shipment on the consignment as a whole.

Other Info

The receiving organisation must be acknowledged by the Customs Authorities.
