Chuqui Ayuda a La Infancia Desvalida is a Chilean NGO established to provide free medical treatment for poor children between the ages of 0 and 14 in the Calama region, the centre of the mining industry. Treatment focuses on medical services not generally provided by the state hospitals, including treatment for harelip, cancer and diabetes. The organisation provides support to the families of the children receiving treatment, and assists with medical expenses, including travel.
