The HoPe Foundation was established in Peru in 1991 to assist in improving the lives of the indigenous people of the Andes. Much of the foundation’s funding comes from the Netherlands, and is used to help build schools, train teachers and run educational and vocational training projects. The foundation also emphasises community involvement; to this end they work with the Peruvian authorities to ensure that projects are sustainable.
