Common Cents is a national educational, not-for-profit organization, which specializes in creating and managing service-learning programs for young people. Common Cent’s most popular program is The Penny Harvest, in which hundreds of thousands of students and supportive adults organize local penny collection drives and transform this wasted resource into ready-to-use funds for the benefit of their communities. Common Cents is dedicated to advancing social justice and equal opportunity by empowering a generation of young people to become good citizens. It engages very large numbers of students within New York in resource mobilization, youth philanthropy and other activities.
