Alternative for Rural Movement (ARM) is an Indian NGO working for the empowerment and sustainable development of deprived village communities in North Orissa with an emphasis on backward rural women, children and dalit communities. The main activities of ARM include but are not limited to the promotion of self help groups, women’s rights, gender equity and legal assistance; awareness and action on mother and child health, reproductive child health, nutritional care, immunization, family planning, HIV/AIDS control, and public health management; credit and savings, vocational self employment and micro enterprise promotion; education for poor rural children; assistance for self-employment; environment and sanitation improvement, food security and the promotion of organic farming.
