Iran Humanitarian Customs Regulations

This document was submitted in response to a questionnaire distributed by Global Hand regarding humanitarian customs information. It provides regulations for importing humanitarian aid into Iran.

Required Documents

  • bill of lading/airway bill
  • commercial invoice
  • packing list
  • fumigation certificate
  • deed of donation
  • certificate of origin

Prohibited Goods

Prohibited goods include gambling devices, alcoholic beverages, pork meat or any derivative of pork, weapons and ammunition, explosive substances, narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

Tax Exemption

All humanitarian goods are exempt from customs and duty provided that they have the relevant documents.

PreShipment Application

There is no requirement for a pre-shipment application.

Monetary Valuation

Customs does not usually require monetary valuation for the shipment. However in the chance that it does, the valuation will be on the consignment as a whole. No currency preference is specified.

Restrictions

Special attention should be paid to expiry dates for food items.
