The Education Volunteers Foundation of Turkey (TEGV) provides and develops afterschool training and devlopment programs to prepare children to be good citizens who “participate fully in the benefits of democracy and globalization.” TEGV, headquartered in Istanbul, operates a variety of facilities throughout Turkey, including 8 education parks, 62 learning centers and 13 mobile learning units, which have served 245,000 children. The foundation, classified by Arthur Anderson as being in good financial standing, operates several funds including a books fund, handicrafts fund, and a fund which finances higher education for teenagers.
