New York Cares is a large volunteer NGO based in New York. The organisation provides volunteer support to thousands of nonprofit agencies, public schools, and other organizations in New York. Staff work with partner organizations to identify needs, create projects to bridge the gaps, and recruit and deploy teams of volunteers to make a difference.

More than 48,000 people volunteer with New York Cares each year. 400,000 disadvantaged New Yorkers are helped through a range of programmes including City-Wide Days of Service,. Disaster Preparedness, Youth Service, and Holdiday Coat and Gift Drives that provide warm winter coats and holiday gifts to men, women, and children who would otherwise go without.
