Centro Shama is a Christian NGO established in 1999 to work with and care for street children in Lima. The Centre currently has a staff of 30, who offer psychological counselling, education and training to the young people with whom they work. The Centre also provides accommodation in its own refuge, and runs a training scheme for street educators and a recycling project to assist with funding.
