The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA) has been joined with the United Nations Resident Coordinator Unit to form a new, joint United Nations Coordination Unit. The goal of the Coordination Unit is to provide better collaboration between the United Nations, Tajikistan government & the international community in providing humanitarian and development assistance in Tajikstan.

The United Nations Coordination Unit of Tajikstan maintains the www.untj.org website, prepares regular updates on needs and responses to humanitarian and development challenges, leads coordination in disaster risk management, Geographical Information Systems and supports coordination focal points in other sectors.
