Czech Republic Humanitarian Customs Regulations

This document was submitted in response to a questionnaire distributed by Global Hand regarding humanitarian customs information. It provides regulations for importing humanitarian aid into Czech Republic.

Required Documents

  • bill of lading/airway bil l
  • commercial invoice or “pro-forma” invoice (invoice for customs purposes)
  • deed of donation.

Prohibited Goods

The following goods are not permitted entry into the Czech Republic as humanitarian aid: Alcohol and alcoholic beverages, tobacco and tobacco products and motor vehicles except ambulances.

Tax Exemption

The Czech Republic offers tax exemption on humanitarian cargo. It applies to all goods except the types of goods mentioned under (2), provided that their recipients are legal entities with charitable orientation.

PreShipment Application

For tax exemption it is sufficient to apply at the moment of importation

Monetary Valuation

Customs require monetary valuation for the shipment. The value of individual items should be mentioned in the deed of donation or the “pro-forma” invoice if possible. If this would be too complicated, at least the value of the consignment as a whole is required.

Restrictions

Shoes and clothes should be fumigated.
