Togo humanitarian customs regulations
This document was submitted in response to a questionnaire distributed by Global Hand regarding humanitarian customs information. It provides regulations for importing humanitarian aid into Togo.
Required Documents
- The following documents are required for the import of humanitarian goods in Togo:
- Bill of lading/Airway bill;
- Commercial invoice;
- Packing list;
- Deed of donation; and
- Certificate of origin
Prohibited Goods
- The following goods are not permitted entry into Togo as humanitarian aid:
- any kind of arms or ammunitions;
- any kind of narcotics; or
- out-of-date products or any food products unfit for human consumption.
Tax Exemption
Tax exemption is available on humanitarian cargo in Togo, provided that written proof is given of the goods being non-profit making cargo. This applies to all goods and all nonprofit consignees.
Pre-shipment Application
A pre-shipment application is not required for humanitarian goods.
Monetary Valuation
Monetary Valuation is required on the consignment as a whole.
Restrictions
Restrictions are in place regarding food and pharmaceutical goods. Please contact the Customs Department in Togo for more information.
More Information
Anything which can be considered as being dangerous must be excluded from humanitarian shipments.
