The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is an international aid agency, established in the aftermath of the second world war to provide food, clothing and shelter for children affected by disease and famine. UNICEF has been working in Ghana for many years, and is currently involved in the Integrated Nutrition Action Against Malnutrition programme which distributes food to 2000 children between 3 and 6 months in the northern area of the country. UNICEF is also working on child and maternal health, on guinea worm eradication and on girls’ education.
