Logistics Cluster
Unverified non-profit organisation
The Logistics Cluster fosters partnerships among the broader humanitarian community to improve delivery of humanitarian relief to communities affected by disasters and conflicts. The Cluster approach provides a unique opportunity for the humanitarian logistics community to benefit from the shared assets, skills and competency of the Cluster lead agency and the participating organizations (UN agencies, government, international and local NGOs). The general objective of services proposed by the Logistics Cluster is to provide – in an efficient, coordinated manner – assets, facilities, information and services, in order to ensure an uninterrupted supply chain of life saving relief items to affected populations during an emergency. In this regard, the Logistics Cluster not only supports the broader humanitarian community by filling identified gaps, affecting the supply chain, through the provision of logistics services, but also facilitates coordination between logistics actors. The logistics services offered by the Logistics Cluster are available to all humanitarian actors responding to a crisis.
