Society for International Development

Unverified non-profit organisation

The Society for International Development (SID) is an international network of individuals and organisations facilitating dialogue and knowledge-sharing as a way to strengthen local innovations and projects. SID participates in regional and global programmes focused around the network’s key concerns – women’s empowerment, democratisation and future searches, and sustainable livelihoods and resources. Today, SID has over 3,000 members in 80 countries and over 45 local chapters worldwide. It works with more than 100 associations, networks, and institutions involving parliamentarians, academics, students, political leaders, and development experts, both at local and international levels. This makes SID one of the very few organizations with a holistic, multi-disciplinary and multi-sectoral approach to development. SID Washington is the most active chapter worldwide and is known as the flagship of the organization.
