Aware is a voluntary organisation set up in Singapore in 1985 to deal with women’s issues. Its three main areas of focus are: Support, Research and Advocacy. It provides a counseling service via telephone or in person and free legal clinics. AWARE seeks to identify areas for improvement in gender equality and to encourage positive change. The organisation raises awareness of women’s and men’s rights, develop women’s full potential and enhance women’s knowledge and skills to empower them.
