America’s Second Harvest is a charitable organization that distributes food to the needy through its network of more than 200 member food banks and food-rescue organizations throughout the US and Puerto Rico. The organisation secures and distributes nearly 2 billion pounds of donated food and grocery products annually and supports local charitable agencies which operate programs such as food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, after-school programmes, kids cafes and backpack programmes.
