United Way (UW) is a global network of NGOs operating in 45 countries. UW brings together leaders from the non-profit or charitable sector, the business sector and government to identify the major local needs or issues and develop strategies to solve problems in the community. The organisation collects money, goods and volunteer services from donors and distributes aid to local projects and charitable organisations. In China, UW works through the China Charitable Foundation (CCF), a countrywide humanitarian NGO.
