World Vision – China, a country office of World Vision International, helps the poor communities break away from poverty and achieve sustainable development through projects in partnership with government counterparts, non-governmental organizations, academic institutions and local villagers. Through emergency relief, education, health care, economic development and through raising public awareness, World Vision – China seeks to promote the situation of the needy and provide for their basic necessities. To promote sustainable development of impoverished communities upon the completion of World Vision’s projects, World Vision encourages local people to participate in the whole process of development projects, from project design, implementation, monitoring to evaluation. Through participation and capacity building, they are empowered to have better knowledge and skills. As a result, long lasting improvement in their quality of life can be better secured.
