UNDP is one of United Nation organisations that has targets for reducing poverty, hunger, disease, illiteracy, environmental degradation and discrimination against women. UNDP uses its global network to help the UN system and its partners to raise awareness, track progress and advocate for change and connecting countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life. Recognizing that people are the real wealth of nations, UNDP Azerbaijan works with national and international partners to convert the country’s “black gold” – oil – into “human gold” – improved human capital. Through capacity development at the level of the enabling environment, and the organizational and individual levels in Azerbaijan, UNDP strives to help create an environment in which all people in the country can develop their full potential and lead productive, creative lives in accord with their needs and interests.
