The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) delivers assistance to Myanmar through a programme known as the Human Development Initiative (HDI). HDI pursues grassroots community-based activities, and in addition, UNDP undertakes an agricultural sector review and an integrated assessment of household living conditions. The primary focus areas are poverty reduction, governance at the local level, the environment, and HIV/AIDS.
