The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is an international aid agency that works with communities and governments in 157 countries for the survival, development and protection of children worldwide. In Pakistan, UNICEF’s activities include helping to give vaccinations against polio, diphtheria, and tetanus; training doctors to recognize and manage measles; and improving conditions in girls’ schools by bringing in safe drinking water and sanitary latrines.
