The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) is an international aid agency that works with communities and governments in 191 countries for the survival, development and protection of children worldwide. In Myanmar, UNICEF programme priorities include providing women and children with information and skills on preventive health measures; strengthening protection for women and children against exploitation and abuse; reducing the spread of HIV/AIDS and promoting improved child survival, development, protection, and participation. UNICEF also provides emergency aid to disaster stricken areas.
