The mission of the Jane Goodall Institute is to advance the power of individuals to take informed and compassionate action to improve the environment for all living things.

Roots & Shoots (R&S) is an international hands-on environmental and humanitarian education programme, with the goal of creating positive change – for communities, for animals and for the environment. R & S is the primary programme of the Jane Goodall Institute in China.

The Roots & Shoots Beijing Office works to spread the programme among local schools in China, and supports the R&S network of teachers and students with projects, in order to join resources and connections to experts and opportunities for capacity building.
