VisionSpring is a social enterprise which aims to provide affordable eyeglasses and access to vision care to neglected communities across the developing world while providing sustainable jobs. It trains local villagers on how to conduct outreach and vision screenings and how to operate a microfranchise selling high-quality, low-cost eyeglasses in their communities. Vision Entrepreneurs sell affordable reading glasses, sunglasses and eye drops, and refer customers needing prescription glasses to a VisionSpring optometrist or a partner eye health institution. These Vision Entrepreneurs are provided with Business in a Bag, a sales kit containing the products and materials needed to launch a successful business.
