The Lok Chi organisation was established in 1975 to provide services on loan from school buildings and in 1977 the association was official registered as a non profit organisation. The association received a public welfare grant to carry out services in Kwun Tong District, borrowing from the activity rooms in the Kwun Tong Group and the Work Department to provide social and recreational activities for young people with intellectual abilities in Kowloon.
Their vision is committed to being a quality service provider. Especially in providing social and recreational services to people with intellectual disabilities. They focus on three main aspects :
1) Developing the multi potential of people with intellectual disabilities so that they can enjoy a prosperous life.
2) To assist people with intellectual disabilities to establish a positive self – image
3) to promote mutual acceptance between the community and the mentally handicapped and to respect each other in a relationship that is hurtful and harmonious.
