Founded in 1703, the Holy Ghost Congregation has its members in the six continents engaged in different ministries. In Kenya, the Congregation is involved in primary evangelization and development, urban ministries in slum areas, inter-religious dialogue, education, reconciliation, and the promotion of human rights.

The Congregation, the Holy Ghost Fathers, also known as Spiritans, first came to Kenya in 1889 from Zanzibar to Mombasa. The Missionaries quickly moved upcountry and were involved in education from the beginning in the Dioceses of Mombasa, Nairobi, and Machakos. The Holy Ghost Fathers are committed to promoting human dignity through education, health, development works, and pastoral apostolate.
