African Communities Empowerment is a Ugandan NGO that is dedicated to empowering and uplifting vulnerable and marginalised people through education, training and the promotion of human rights. The organisation focuses on the education of gitls and young women in particular, but also includes orphans and other vulnerable children within its target groups.
Projects sponsored by the organisation include the Marian Institute, a skills training project for women and girls, the Marian Girl’s High School, St. Joseph’s Education Centre for boys and girls, St. Paul’s Girls Primary School, a sponsorship programme for rural children and a Computer Literacy & Internet Technology Project for rural schools implemented in partnership with a school in Nebraska.
